The first blog I found was called "The Nerdy Teacher." This blog mainly focused on technology and how to effectively incorporate it into the classroom. What I found interesting about this blog was the dedication to integrate technology in an implicit way to educate students. Through using technology, the teacher was able to teach his students in a way that most benefits them and through a media that his students are so connected with. The Nerdy Teacher used technological literacy to the fullest by using various apps that his students would be able to learn, create and apply towards their education.

By progressing the classroom in ways that are already known and invested by the students, teachers are able to use technology and social media as a tool to further develop student's learning. By focusing on these tools, teachers are able to not only educate students on the required curriculum expectations but are able to teach them how to use these medias in a secure way outside of the classroom. I think it is important to educate our students on the technology they use daily as well as using it to further advance their education.
In my EDUC 4P27 course, we have discussed about many literacies that need to be incorporated within the classroom. It is clear that these teachers have successfully integrated the technological literacy, media literacy, critical literacy, as well as a focus on character education. By combining the literacies, these teachers have created lessons and activities that will develop their students as 21st century learners. In using technology and media, students are required to critically think about how these tools affect them. These teachers allowed the students to use applications that created an online profile that is effective in developing their own character. These sites not only educate children but also gives them a sense of independence by connecting with others in a safe and secure online environment.
This quote from Robert John Meehan really captures the thoughts and feelings I have in regards to the blogs I found. No doubt, the two teachers I spoke of teach with passion and vigor. By reading the blogs and learning many ideas from these educators, I believe it is possible to be a fulfilling teacher. We often forget how much time and effort is required for teachers to complete all of the requirements of their jobs, but they do so with a kind and caring heart. I can imagine that the Nerdy Teacher and the Innovative Educator are enthusiastic and creative within their classroom and that their students are inspired and motivated everyday to learn.
Until next time, take care!
